"Spartans of Old, Brave and Bold, We Conquer All"

Kanis Re-Ups;
Clark puts CG in SAMI

"I have a CTLT Cadet from the Class of ‘99 and a PLT LDR from ‘97...they think I’m old."

Fayetteville News - Becky Kanis recently withdrew her resignation packet and stayed on Active Duty as a Signal Company Commander at Fort Bragg. "I choose to cast my fate with folks who understand Huntington’s Model," adds Becky. "I just finished a year in command and decided I like it too much to leave." At Fort Bragg, Becky has run into Rone Reed, who she stated is "looking great and still kicking butt in 3d Group." On the Ste. Mere Eglise Drop Zone, Safety Officer Kanis also bumped in CPT Joe Clark, who is in his second command, working as HHC/82d Div (ABN) commander. Hey, who says a Redleg can’t be rock-hard-high-speed? (Rumor has it that Joe put the CG in SAMI). Lastly, while on assignment in Huntsville, Alabama, Becky had dinner with MAJ Mimi Finch and husband Jeff Tensfeldt., who, with their two girls, just PCSed to Fort Huachuca.

Shaun’s "So-Called Life"

Boston Post - After 5 years of playing Army and 2 years at Harvard, Shaun has landed a job with Deloitte Consulting in Boston, Massachusetts. "It’s an active lifestyle but a lot of fun—I spend a lot of time in airports these days. As a result, I don’t get the exercise I used to so now I actually have to watch my diet so I don’t get fat. Damn, I’m getting old." [see Kanis article above for reference on feeling old] Shaun reports that he, Amy, and their three boys (that’s right...count ‘em, I said 3!) live in a house, the first the couple has purchased, located just outside of Boston. After living in the city while attending Harvard, Shaun is enjoying the suburban life. If you’d like to get in touch with Shaun, call him at 978/392-2261.
