"Spartans of Old, Brave and Bold, We Conquer All"

Holly Craig:
Queen of Queens

"This is the worst job imaginable."

- Holly Craig in response to questions regarding her NYC recruiting assignment.

New York Times - Holly Craig, an Army Recruiter working in the Borough of Queens, and living on Fort Hamilton in the Borough of Brooklyn, has told her branch manager (Ordnance) that this assignment should be deemed a "hardship tour." "I’d better get what I want come June," states the Kansas native, who has not adjusted well to life in the Big Apple. At last report, Holly was scheduled to attend the 1998 Army-Navy Classic with her brother, now a Firstie at West Point. Also attending the game would be Holly’s spouse Jon and her two step-sons, ages 10 and 8. Finally, a message from Holly to A2 pal Craig Rooney: "I can’t believe Roon-Dawg is married! GAWD! What next, kids?" Well, we don’t think so, Holly, not so long as Craig refuses to take his prescribed doses of Viagra. Note: Holly finished this year’s NYC Marathon in 4 hours, 21 minutes. Congratulations from all Spartans.

Doug Winton:
Redleg! Student?

Grafenwoehr Gazette - Earlier this Fall, Doug Winton completed his second CMTC Roatation as a battery commander, where his unit alone killed over 60 tubes of enemy artillery in a 5-battle, 10-day campaign. Complementing his success on the battlefield, Doug has applied to Harvard, Syracuse, Georgetown and Kansas in pursuit of a Master’s in Public Policy, so that he may later return to USMA and teach either Economics of International Relations in the Department of Social Sciences. Before school, however, Doug will complete CAS3 in April-May 1999.

On the family front, Doug and Gabrielle are expecting their second child in January. Their first, Joshua, is a talker the likes of which has not been seen before in the ranks of the 2-yr. olds.
